Hello, I’m Karen.

I’m a photographer who makes images that keep the atmosphere of a moment intact; the expressions, gestures, and details that make it unmistakably yours. I’m drawn to photographs that still feel immediate years later.

Before I ever worked professionally with a camera, I was drawn to both art and sports. As a kid, I loved creating, observing, and noticing beauty in places other people might pass by. That curiosity led me to earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Austin Peay State University, with concentrations in Photography and Painting. That foundation still guides the way I see and work today.

For more than 20 years, photography has taken me in directions I never expected. My work blends portrait, fine art, and documentary photography to create images that feel polished and true to the people in them. Whether I’m photographing the emotion of a wedding, the concentration of an athlete, the character behind a brand, or the quiet details that often go unseen, I aim to make photographs that feel honest and intentional.

I’ve photographed everything from USA Boxing events and the U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials to destination weddings across the United States. Along the way, I’ve worked with Jostens, Austin Peay State University, Fort Campbell, the USO in Italy, government officials, manufacturers, artists, musicians, civic sculptors, local businesses, and brands like Mitsubishi. I’ve also had the chance to collaborate with and meet people such as Floyd Mayweather, Caleb Plant, Sonya Clark, Meagan Glecker, and John Douglas Powers. Every assignment has introduced me to remarkable people, and that remains one of the best parts of this work.

What matters most to me is not just whom I’m photographing, but what the images need to communicate. Every person, business, and event has its own character, and I approach each session with creativity, patience, and care.
